The Zero-Modeling Workflow: Transforming a 2D hand sketch into a 3D photorealistic environment in seconds, without opening Revit or Rhino.
For decades, the "napkin sketch" has been a myth.
We love the idea of sketching on a napkin and building a skyscraper, but the reality is much more painful. To take that sketch to a client presentation, you usually have to open Revit, Rhino, or SketchUp and spend days building the massing, adjusting the camera focal length, and texturing the geometry.
The "energy" of the sketch dies the moment you start modeling.
But what if you could skip the modeling phase entirely?
The Problem: Geometry is Expensive
Look at this sketch we found by @peerspective.teaching.

See that dramatic, angular cantilever? That specific roof pitch? To model that in 3D requires precision. You have to calculate angles, build walls, and set up a camera that perfectly matches the perspective of the drawing.
For a "rough idea," that is a massive investment of billable hours.
The Solution: The Zero-Modeling Workflow
We wanted to test if Rendore's AI co-pilot could understand 3D depth from a 2D drawing. We call this the Zero-Modeling Workflow.
Step 1: The Input We uploaded the raw paper sketch. No cleanup, no tracing in CAD. Just the image.
Step 2: The Prompt We didn't tell the AI what the geometry was (it figured that out). We told it what material we wanted.
- Prompt: "Modern concrete structure, wood soffits, lakeside setting, golden hour."
Step 3: The Result In under 60 seconds, we had a fully realized concept.

The AI understood the roof pitch. It understood the depth of the glass facade. It correctly interpreted the reflection in the water. And we didn't model a single polygon.
Why This Changes Your Practice
This isn't just a cool trick; it's a business strategy.
- Test 10 Ideas, Build 1: You can explore ten different massing ideas on paper and visualize them all before you commit to modeling one in BIM.
- Win Bids Faster: You can walk into a pitch meeting with photorealistic visuals of your initial sketches, blowing away competitors who only brought line drawings.
- Keep the "Hand" in Architecture: This workflow validates the skill of sketching. You don't have to be a 3D wizard to create stunning visuals; you just have to be a great architect.
Stop modeling every idea. Start visualizing them.

About Iancau Mihai
As the founder of Rendore, I'm building the tools I've always wanted as a creator.
My entire career has been driven by a single passion: understanding "how things work" and then building new ways to bring ideas into reality. This curiosity has led me from music production and creative marketing to the code itself, prototyping AI solutions in VS Studio and Google AI Studio.
I'm a hands-on builder. I don't just use tools; I make them. I've scraped and curated unique datasets to train my own models in Google Colab, building AI tools from scratch—including one that can generate a full, cohesive brand photoshoot from a single image.
Today, I'm focusing this passion on a field I deeply respect: architecture and interior design.
My mission for Rendore is simple: to build an AI "co-pilot" for creative professionals. Our tools are designed to accelerate your workflow and eliminate the friction in your rendering process, giving you back the one thing you need most: time to design.
Let's connect. I'm always open to talking with designers, architects, and builders about the future of creative technology.
